Families & Children

 Tiny Tots

This group is for pre-school age children and their parents or carers, and meets during term-term from 1.15pm in Birstall Village Hall on Birstall Road. It involves children’s play, refreshments and a short Bible story or activity. It is led by Mrs Marion Tegg, together with other helpers

 Messy Church
at Birstall Methodist Church

Messy Church is open to anyone at all to come along, but is designed particularly with families in mind, and especially those families for whom Sunday morning church does not work for one reason or another.

Messy Church is very informal. Each week there will be a bible story or theme from the bible. For the first hour or so there are craft activities, or food preparation, or maybe playing games to enjoy or just passing the time over a cup of coffee. Then we move into the church for a short time of worship including storytelling and song. Finally we share a meal together before clearing up and going home.

Messy Church is an ecumenical initiative, between St James’ Church and Birstall Methodist Church

 Sunday Morning Children's Work

This is generally focused on the 11am Open House service, involving a range of Biblical teaching and activities, based on the Church lectionary, for children of all ages. It is led by a team of willing volunteers.
